Nichols, Alfred

 

 

Born 1892 Sprent Tasmania the son of Alfred Weeding and Margaret Sophia Nichols (nee Dolbel) an agriculturist he embarked Melbourne 10th November 1915 on board “HMAT Ascanius” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was serving with the 47th Battalion when he died 1st November 1917 from wounds received in the field and was buried in the Brookwood Military Cemetery, Pirbright, Surrey

 

Mr. Alfred Nicholls, of Pyengana has received the sad intelligence that his son, Private Alfred Nicholls died on November 1 at Coombe Lodge Hospital, Great Warley, from gunshot wounds and fractured skull.
