O'Brien Harold Douglas

 

Born 16th May 1890 Launceston Tasmania to George and Genevieve O’Brien (nee Lathey) he was a Plate layer, railway construction who embarked Brisbane 13th February 1915 on “HMAT Seang Choon” with the 9th Infantry Battalion

 He was killed in action at Pozieres France 22nd July 1916 and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France

 His brother Lance Corporal Basil O’Brien was killed in action at Messines Ridge 7th June 1917

O'BRIEN.-In memory of Company Sergeant Harold Douglas O'Brien, 9th Battalion, 3rd Brigade, killed in action  22nd July, 1916, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. O'Brien, Branxholm.
