O'Rourke, John Douglas

Born 2^nd June 1889 Cygnet Tasmania the son of Phillip and Hanorah O’Rourke (nee Dwyer) a labourer he embarked Hobart 1^st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40^th Infantry Battalion.

He was appointed Corporal 10^th February 1917.

He was serving with the 49^th Battalion when he was killed in action 5^th April 1917 in France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France
