Oldham, Oscar McGregor

 

 

Born 1897 Pyengana Tasmania the son of Edwin Thomas and Emily Irving Oldham (nee Campbell) a farmer he embarked Melbourne 10th November 1915 on board “HMAT Ascanius” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

 

He died 2nd June 1918 at the 5th Casualty Clearing Station in France from a gunshot wound to the chest and is commemorated in the Crouy British Cemetery, Crouy St Pierre, Amiens, Picardie, France .

OLDHAM.--Died on the 2nd June, from wounds received in action, Gunner Oscar McGregor Oldham, 27th Battery A.F.A., youngest beloved son of E. T. Oldham, Pyengana, aged 21 years. "For God, King, and Country. God Save the King."
