Owen, Herbert Edward Roy

Born 29^th March 1895 Stanley Tasmania to Harry Robert and Sarah Owen (nee Row) an orchardist who embarked Melbourne 25^th October 1916 on board “HMAT Ulysses” with the 12^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed 14^th March 1918 in action at Hill 60 and is buried in the Spoilbank Cemetery, Belgium.

His brother Pte Archie Walter Owen (No 6847) died from wounds 23^rd July 1918 and was buried in the Longuenesse (St Omer) Souvenir Cemetery, France.

Another brother Pte Reginald Tudor Owen (No 3326) was invalided back to Tasmania with a gunshot wound to the right foot and a fractured left ankle.
