Owen, John Theodore

Born 5^th December 1895 Hobart Tasmania to John and Elizabeth Owen (nee Kelly) an upholsterer who departed Brisbane 29^th June 1915 on board “HMAT Aeneas” with the 26^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 5^th August 1916 by shellfire in the 2^nd attack at Pozieres but no body was recovered. He is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
