Born 25th May 1894 Huonville Tasmania to Rowland (dec’d) and Charlotte Emma Page (nee Larsen) he was an orchardist when he enlisted and was posted to the 12th Battalion. PERSONAL NOTES – The Mercury Mrs. A.C. Seabrook, of Lochmer Street, Hobart, has received the following letter from Lieutenant L. M. Newton, written from France on November 22: "I regret to have to inform you of the death of your son, No. 6589, Private R. J. Page. He was a member of an engineer's carrying party at the time, and was killed by a shell on November 1, 1917, just near Zonnebeke, about five miles north-east of Ypres. You will be relieved to know, I feel, sure, that death was instantaneous. We were able to erect a small cross for identification purposes. Please accept the sincere sympathy of all officers and men of the 12th Battalion in your great loss."
