Born 25^th July 1892 Poimena Tasmania to Hugh and Ellen Parry (nee McDermot) a miner who enlisted 25^th February 1915 with the 7^th Field Ambulance and contracted enteric fever overseas and was returned to Australia for three months recovery. He then embarked Melbourne 30^th September 1916 on board “HMAT Suffolk” with the 12^th Infantry Battalion.

Cpl Parry was killed in action 15^th April 1917 at Lagnicourt France and is commemorated on the Queant Road Cemetery, Buissy, France
