PECK, CYRIL SYDNEY
Studio portrait of 476 Private (Pte) Cyril Sydney Peck, 40th Battalion. A farm labourer from St Leonards, Tasmania, prior to enlistment, Pte Peck embarked with B Company from Hobart on HMAT Berrima on 1 July 1916. On 28 October 1918, aged 19, he died of wounds received in action and was buried in the St Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, France. His brother 4859 Pte Norman John Peck was previously killed in action on 6 April 1917.
