Peddle, George

 

Born 4th April 1892 Launceston Tasmania to George and Caroline Peddle (nee Hearne) a sawmill manager who embarked Melbourne 25th October 1916 on board “HMAT Ulysses” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.

 Was killed instantly 13th October 1917 by a shell blast at Passchendaele and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
