If you could spare a few dollars to help with the running costs of hosting this website to keep it alive would be very much appreciated.

Thankyou from Gravesites of Tasmania in advance.

Peebles, Andrew Henderson

He was born 1892 Sassafras Tasmania the son of James Robert Peebles a farmer who embarked Sydney 14th June 1917 on board “HMAT Hororata” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 28th March 1918 in France and like others with no known grave is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.

Mr W. T. Baker yesterday conveyed the sad news to Mr. and Mrs. James R. Peebles, Preston, that their son, Pte. Andrew Peebles, of the 40th Battalion, had been killed in action on March 28. This is the second son of the family who has made the supreme sacrifice. The third son, Alexander, who has been in France for two years is still in the trenches.
