He was killed in action 12th October 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated in the Poelcapelle British Cemetery, Poelkapelle, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium

has been received that Corporal Jack G Pcrry of the 40h
Battalion son of Mr and Mrs Luke Perry of the Picnic
Hotel Huonville was
killed
in
action
in France on October 12 1917 He had previously been
reported wounded and missing but his manv friends had
indulged the hope that he might be still alive Ho was a
fine manlv The Mercury 22nd June 1918
