Pitman Tasman Henry

 

Born 4th February 1881Hobart Tasmania the son of Henry and Isabell Pitman married to Henrietta Isobel Hough wih five children, a printer he embarked Melbourne 30th October 1917 on board “HMAT Aeneas” with the 40th Infantry Battalion. 

He was killed in action 29th September 1918 in the Battle of St Quentin Canal and is commemorated in the Unicorn Cemetery, Vendhuile, Aisne, France

Prívate Tasman Henry Pitman, formerly an employee in the machine-room department of 'The Mercury," has been killed in action in France' His age was 38 and he belonged to the 40th Battalion.
