Ponting Charles John

Born 20^th July 1894 Launceston Tasmania the son of James and Jane Ann Ponting (nee Burr) a 21 year old barman from Lefroy he embarked 13^th December 1915 on board “HMAT Ajana” with the 26^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 19^th August 1916 and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France
