Porter George Herbert
Born 28th January 1883 Launceston Tasmania to William Henry and Matilda Agnes Porter (nee Maher) a driver who embarked 25th September 1916 on board “HMAT Devon” with the New Zealand Rifle Brigade 11th Reinforcements 2nd Battalion He was killed in action 17th June 1916 at the Battle of Messines and was buried in the Messines Ridge (New Zealand) Memorial, Messines Ridge British Cemetery, Belgium
