Price Albert

Private Albert Price

 

Born Latrobe Tasmania the son of George Price a labourer he embarked Hobart 1st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was serving with the 49th Battalion when he killed in action 7th June 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Flanders, Belgium

Mr. G. Price, of East Devonport, has received the sad intelligence that his only son, Private Albert Price, aged 31, has been killed in action in France. He enlisted twelve months ago. His only sister is Mrs. Charles Laycock, of West Devonport.
