Purcell, Christopher Milton
The son of William and Annie Purcell of 35 Queen Street, North Hobart a labourer he embarked 8th August 1916 on board “HMAT Ballarat” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.
He was killed in action 31st January 1917 in France and is commemorated in the Cite Bonjean Military Cemetery, Armentieres, Lille, France PURCELL. -Killed in action in France, January, 1917, Private Christopher Milton Purcell, dearly beloved third son of William and Annie Purcell, of 35 Queen-street, beloved brother of Mrs. D. Pelham and Mrs. Byron aged 24 years. Beloved by all who knew him. He gave his life for God, for King and country.
