Rampton Frederick George Cecil

 

 Born 1898 Zeehan Tasmania the son of Thomas and Grace Watson Rampton (nee Cowper) a farmer he died 11th January 1917 Hobart Tasmania whilst in Claremont Camp of cerebro spinal meningitis and is commemorated in the Garden of Remembrance, Cornelian Bay Public Cemetery, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.

 

He is also on the Honour Roll at the Wynyard R.S.L. and was 19 years old when he died.

MENINGITIS CASE.

The dreaded disease meningitis has claimed another victim from the ranks of the volunteers from this district. Mr. Fred Rampton of Oldina has succumhed to the ravages of this disease while in training at Claremont during last week. He had been in camp about two months.
