Ransley, George Arthur

 

 

 

 

Born 19th November 1885 Ellendale Tasmania the son of Arthur and Joanna Ransley (nee Scanlon) a farmer from Fentonbury Tasmania he embarked Melbourne 5th January 1916 on board “HMAT Afric” with the 26th Infantry Battalion.  

He died 28th November 1916 in hospital at Cambrai whilst a prisoner of war and is commemorated in the Porte-de-Paris Cemetery, Cambrai, Nord Pas de Calais, France
