Reed, Darrell Gordon
Born 27th August 1891 Sydney New South Wales the son of James and Eliza Jane Reed (nee Wilton) of Moonta South Australia, a tailor he enlisted Claremont Tasmania and embarked Melbourne 10th September 1915 on board SS Makarini with the 12th Infantry Battalion.
He saw service in Gallipoli Egypt and France was promoted Corporal 26th July 1917 and then promoted to Sergeant.
Band Sgt Reed was serving with the 1st Pioneer Battalion when he died 7th October 1918 at the 16th General Hospital Le Treport from pneumonia and was buried in the Mont Huon Military Cemetery, Le Treport, Seine Maritime, France
