Ricketts Harold Stanley

Born 16^th December 1893 Waratah Tasmania the son of Edward and Florence Ricketts (nee Vaughan) he embarked on board “HMAT Hymettus” on 17^th September 1915 with the 5^th Light Horse Regiment.

At the time of his enlistment he was living at the Bay View Hotel in Swansea, a hotel owned by his father Edward.

He was serving with the 13^th Brigade Australian Field Artillery when he was killed in action 15 October 1917 during a heavy shell bombardment in Belgium and is commemorated in the Hooge Crater Cemetery in Belgium.
