Rocher Thomas Trinder
Born 30th December 1879 Newcastle Northumberland England he married 1906 in Queenstown Mary Ann Hodgetts a 37 year old miner he enlisted 23rd October 1915 at Ross and embarked Sydney 20th February 1916 on board “HMAT Ulysses” with the 3rd Tunnelling Company and the rank of Sergeant. He returned to Australia 31st August 1916 after being wounded and gassed at Pozieres and died Hobart 25th June 1918 aged 43 and was buried in St Johns Cemetery, New Town, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia ROCHER – Passed away at Sanatorium, New Town, on June 25th, after a long and painful illness, Albert (Tom Trinder) Rocher, beloved husband of Mary Ann Rocher, of Rose Vale, aged 44 years (late sergeant 3rd Mining Corps AIF) Launceston Examiner 27 June 1918 p1
