Rootes, John Henry

 

Born 19th March 1895 the son of James Frederick and Jane Elizabeth Rootes (nee Ayton) a 20 year old labourer he embarked Brisbane 21st October 1915 on board “HMAT Seang Bee” with the 26th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was killed in action 15th April 1917 and like others with no known grave is commemorated on the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, France
