Rose Luther Garnet
Charles Luther Garnet ROSE b at Castle Forbes Bay, son of Charles & Mary Rose of Dover, brother of Nalta , He enlisted at Greymouth NZ on 13 Aug 1914 as a Private in the Main Body of the Canterbury Regiment of NZ Expeditionary Force. Gave his age as 24 years and 11 months. He was killed in action on 9th May 1915 aged 26 in the Dardanelles, Turkey. His memorial is in Twelve Tree Copse (NZ) memorial , Turkey, This cemetery is in the Helles area about 1 kilometre south-west of the village of Krithia , The names engraved on the memorial panels are linked by the inscription " Here are recorded the names of officers of men of NZ who fell in the second battle of Krithia, May 1915, or July 1915, and whose graves are known only to God"
