Roughley, George Asher

 

Born Railton Tasmania to Henry Asher and Jane Roughley and married to Myrtle Maud Carstairs who departed Hobart 1st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima’ with the 40th Infantry Battalion.

He died 2nd November 1918 in France of broncho pneumonia and was buried in the Abbeville Communal Cemetery Extension, France.

Two brothers Pte Charles William Roughley (No 6339) died of wounds in France and buried in Ebblinghem Military Cemetery, France and  James Thomas Roughley (No 3384)killed in action 28th March 1918 and commemorated in the Heilly Station Cemetery, Mericourt-L'Abbe, France.
