Rowell, Clyde Eugene
Born 28th October 1898 Launceston Tasmania to William James and Emily Agnes Rowell (nee Cleaver) a clerk who embarked Melbourne 21st November 1917 on board “HMAT Nestor” with the 4th Machine Gun Company. Was serving with the 12th Battalian when he was hit in the back of the head 23rd August 1918 by a piece of shell during the advance on Cappy and was killed instantly. He is commemorated in the Heath Cemetery, Harbonnieres, France.
