Russell, George Arthur

 

 

Born Kindred Tasmania the son of Arthur Henry and Mary Anne Russell (nee shadbolt) a farmer he embarked Hobart 13th December 1915 on board “HMAT Ajana” with the 26th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was serving with the 12th Infantry Battalion when he was killed in action 19th September 1917 and is commemorated in the Hooge Crater Cemetery, Passchendaele, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium
