Russell, William Hedley

Born 1896 Deloraine Tasmania the son of William and Emily Rowena Russell (nee Bradmore) a labourer he embarked 13^th December 1915 on board “HMAT Ajana” with the 26^th Infantry Battalion.

He was living and working at Yambacoona King Island when he enlisted.

Lance Corporal Russell was serving with the 52^nd Battalion when he was killed in action 28^th March 1917 at Baupaume and is commemorated in the Queant Road Cemetery, Buissy, Pas de Calais, France
