Ryan, James

 

A miner from Launceston Tasmania he departed Melbourne 5th December 1914 on board “HMAT Kyarra” with the 1st Australian Clearing Hospital.

He died back in Australia 2nd April 1919 from wounds received in the field and was buried in the Hobart (Queenborough) Cemetery, Tasmania, Australia.

Died for the Empire

Private James Ryan (1435) eldest son of Mr and Mrs E Ryan of Launceston.  Enlisted Queenstown September 19th 1914.  Left Australia November 1914 .First A.A.M.C.  Died No 9 A.G.H Hobart April 2nd 1919.  Aged 31 years.  Deeply mourned
