RYAN, PRESTON GILMORE
Studio portrait of 4578 Private (Pte) Preston Gilmore Ryan, 14th Reinforcements, 12th Battalion, of Smithton, Tas. Pte Ryan enlisted on 10 October 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Warilda on 8 February 1916. On 4 June 1916 he died of Meningitis and was buried at sea in the Mediterranean. His death is commemorated at the Hollybrook Memorial, Southhampton
