Sales Henry Tasman

 

Born 30th January 1889 Fingal Tasmania to Henry and Julia Adeline Sales (nee Brady)a labourer he embarked Sydney 20th January 1916 on board “HMAT Runic” with the 3rd Field Ambulance.

He died 6th January 1917 in the 36th Casualty Clearing Station Heilly France from a shell wound that penetrated the abdomen and was buried in the Heilly Station Cemetery, Mericourt-L'Abbe, France.

Mrs. H. Sales of Deloraine has received a wire stating that her second eldest son Private H T. Sales, has died of wounds. The soldier was an esteemed and respected lad. He has three more brothers on active service, two being in France and one in training in England. Examiner Launceston 18th Jan 1917
