Sampson, William Harold

 

 

Born 1885 Launceston Tasmania the second son of Richard and Caroline Eliza Sampson (nee Pollard) a bank clerk he embarked Melbourne 9th November 1916 on board “HMAT Port Sydney with the Field Artillery Brigade.

 

 

Gunner Sampson was serving with the 30th Reinforcements Australian Field Artillery when he  died 14th April 1918 from Empyena at the Sutton Veny Military Hospital and was buried in the Sutton Veny (St John) Churchyard, Sutton Veny, Wiltshire.
