Sampson, William Harold

Born 1885 Launceston Tasmania the second son of Richard and Caroline Eliza Sampson (nee Pollard) a bank clerk he embarked Melbourne 9^th November 1916 on board “HMAT Port Sydney with the Field Artillery Brigade.

Gunner Sampson was serving with the 30^th Reinforcements Australian Field Artillery when he  died 14^th April 1918 from Empyena at the Sutton Veny Military Hospital and was buried in the Sutton Veny (St John) Churchyard, Sutton Veny, Wiltshire.
