Say, Douglas Stanley
Born Middle Lambrook South Petherton, Somersetshire England, a grocer’s assistantwho enlisted and embarked Hobart Tasmania 20th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong” with the 12th Infantry Battalion. Private Douglas Saye mentioned in the casualty list published on Thursday as having died of wounds received at the Dardanelles had been employed for over two years at Messrs. Hawkins and Co.'s establishment Hobart, and was first assistant there when he enlisted. He was very highly esteemed, both by his fellow-workers and his employers, and the latter promised when he enlisted that if he came back his position would always be open to him. His father lives in England, while his mother has been dead for some time. The Examiner 15th June 1915
