Scheer, Herman
A miner from Waratah Tasmania he embarked Melbourne 4th May 1916 on board “HMAT Port Lincoln” with the 13th Field Artillery Brigade. He died 20th July 1917 from shrapnel wounds to the chest and was buried in the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium. Sincere sympathy is felt with the relatives of the late Gunner Herman Scheer, who recently died of wounds in France. The deceased soldier was a native of Waratah, his father being a well-known miner and prospector The North Western Advocate 7th August 1917
