Shaw, John Alexander

 

Private John Alexander Shaw

 

A miner from Dawson Street Queenstown he listed his mother Mrs E Wordsworth of the same address as his next of kin he embarked Melbourne 17th July 1915 on board “HMAT Orsova”  with the 26th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was killed in action 5th August 1916 in France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France
