Shields Leonard Joseph Patrick
Born 1897 Somerset the son of Robert James and Mary Elizabeth Shields (nee Bourke) an 18 year old labourer he served with the 12th Battalion and was killed in action at Pozieres 23rd July 1916 when he was hit by a shell in a chalk pit.
He is commemorated on the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, France
