Shields Leonard Joseph Patrick

Born 1897 Somerset the son of Robert James and Mary Elizabeth Shields (nee Bourke) an 18 year old labourer he served with the 12^th Battalion and was killed in action at Pozieres 23^rd July 1916 when he was hit by a shell in a chalk pit.

He is commemorated on the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, France
