Sims, Cecil Clement
Born 1887 Launceston Tasmania the son of Arthur and Elizabeth Jane Sims (nee Bryan) a labourer he embarked Melbourne 21st November 1917 on board “HMAT Nestor” with the 4th Machine Gun Company
He was serving with the 12th Infantry Battalion when he was killed in action 18th September 1918 in France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France. SIMS.-Officially reported killed in action on the 18th September, Cecil Clement Sims (Machine Gunner) only son of the late Arthur and Mrs. Elizabeth Sims, aged 35 years. He made the supreme sacrifice saving others.
