Slade, Charles

 

Born 5th September 1894 Richmond Tasmania the son of Elizabeth Slade of Colebrook, a ganger he embarked Adelaide 10th February 1917 on board “HMAT Seang Bee” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was killed in action 25th July 1918 in France and is commemorated on the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, France

Mrs. Elizabeth Slade, of Colebrook has been notified by Base Records that her son, Private Charles Slade. No. 7735, was killed in action on July 25. He enlisted at Smithton in October two vears ago, and left Claremont camp February, 1916.
