Smith Albert Henry
Born Ballarat Victoria the son of Isobel Smith of 58 Cobden Street Ballarat a printer he embarked Hobart 20th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong” with the 12th Infantry Battalion. He was on the staff of the “Ballarat Star” for some years and at the time of his enlistment was employed by the ”Daily Post” Hobart Tasmania. He was killed in action 8th August 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli Peninsula, Canakkale Province, Turkey
