Smith Sydney Tasman
Born 1884 Launceston Tasmania the son of Richard Robert and Maria Smith (nee Green) he enlisted Victoria and embarked 7th March 1916 on board “HMAT Wilthire) with the 23rd Battalin. He was killed in action on 19 July 1916 during the battle of Fromelles. He has no known grave and his name is recorded on the VC Corner Australian Cemetery Memorial, Fromelles, France.
