Smith, Arthur Clyde

 

 

 

 

Born 1896 Port Cygnet Tasmania the son of Morven and Susanna Smith (nee Jackson) an orchardist from Glaziers Bay he embarked Melbourne 30th October 1917 on board “HMAS Aeneas” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.

 

He died at the 53rd Casualty Clearing Station from a gunshot wound to the back and was buried in the Daours Communal Cemetery Extension, Daours, Somme, France
