Smith, Charles Edward

 

 

 

Born 10th June 1884 to Hugh and Annie Smith (nee Ireland) and married to Ella Grace (Holmes) he embarked Hobart on “HMAT Berrima 1st July 1916 with the 40th Battalion.

He was a trained sniper and was recommended for Sergeant 4th October 1917. He was killed in action in Belguim shortly after on 12th October 1917._
