Smith, Claude
Born 1893 Deloraine Tasmania the son of John and Mary Ann Smith (nee Welsh) a grocer he embarked Melbourne 11th May 1917 on board “HMAT Shropshire” with the Field Artillery Brigade. He was serving with the 8th Brigade Australian Field Artillery when he died 14th May 1918 in France from wounds received in the field and was buried in the Pernois British Cemetery, Halloy-les-Pernois, France.
