Smith, Claude

Born 1893 Deloraine Tasmania the son of John and Mary Ann Smith (nee Welsh) a grocer he embarked Melbourne 11^th May 1917 on board “HMAT Shropshire” with the Field Artillery Brigade.

He was serving with the 8^th Brigade Australian Field Artillery when he died 14^th May 1918 in France from wounds received in the field and was buried in the Pernois British Cemetery, Halloy-les-Pernois, France.
