Somers, Oscar George

 

Born 21st May 1897 Swansea Tasmania to Frank and Elizabeth Somers (nee Hunn) a blacksmith who embarked Melbourne 28th February 1918 on board “HMAT Nestor” with the 12th Infantry Battalion. 

He received a gunshot wound to the abdomen at Crepy Wood on the 11th August 1918 and was admitted to the 55th Casualty Clearing Station where he died on the 13th August 1918.

He was buried in the Daours Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
