Southern Arthur Richard
Born 1892 Hobart Tasmania the son of Arthur William and Mary Elizabeth Southern (nee Sheppard) a clearing contractor he enlisted and embarked Fremantle 22nd February 1915 on board “HMAT Itonus” with the 16th Infantry Battalion.
He was killed in action 2nd May 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli Peninsula, Canakkale
His brother Captain Harold Alfred Southern was killed on the same day and is also commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial. (not included in this list as he was born London)
