Speed, George

Born New Norfolk Tasmania to Alfred George and Rosie Speed (nee Kauban) a labourer who departed Hobart 8^th August 1916 on board “HMAT Ballarat” with the 40^th Infantry Battalion.

 Lance Sergeant Speed was killed in action 17^th April 1918 in France and is buried in the Heilly Station Cemetery, Mericourt-L'Abbe, France.
