Sproule, Ernest Frank

 

 

 

 

Born 21st January 1884 Kingston Tasmania to Edward and Alice Sproule (nee Jarvis) and married to Harriet Sproule, a fisherman who departed Melbourne 21st October 1916 on board “HMAT Port Melbourne” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.

He died 5th October 1917 at the 44th Casualty Clearing Station from a shrapnel wound which penetrated the stomach at Passchendaele Ridge and was buried in the Nine Elms British Cemetery, Belgium.
