Sproule, Ernest Frank

Born 21^st January 1884 Kingston Tasmania to Edward and Alice Sproule (nee Jarvis) and married to Harriet Sproule, a fisherman who departed Melbourne 21^st October 1916 on board “HMAT Port Melbourne” with the 40^th Infantry Battalion.

He died 5^th October 1917 at the 44^th Casualty Clearing Station from a shrapnel wound which penetrated the stomach at Passchendaele Ridge and was buried in the Nine Elms British Cemetery, Belgium.
