Stacey, Edward James
Born 17th June 1884 Jericho Tasmania the son of Joseph and Betsy Stacey (nee Bird) married to Maude Vincent with 1 child a biograph operator he embarked Hobart 8th May 1916 on board “HMAT Seang Choon” with the 12th Infantry Battalion. He was serving with the 40th Battalion when he was killed in action 10th September 1918 in France and is commemorated in the Cerisy-Gailly French National Cemetery, Cerisy, Picardie, France. Advice was received yesterday that Pte. E. J. Stacey, the husband of Mrs. Maud Stacey of Upper Burnie had been killed in action. Pte Stacey, who was of the 40th (late l2th) Battalion, had been on active service for two years and seven months.- He leaves a wife and child. The North Western Advocate 27th Sep
