Standing John Albert Theodore

AKA Albert Standjkan

Born 18^th January 1884 Yarragon Victoria the son of Thomas and Norah Standing (nee Leeson) a labourer he enlisted Pontville Tasmania and embarked Hobart 20^th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong” with the 3^rd Light Horse Regiment

He died 8^th August 1915 at the 1^st Australian Casualty Clearing Station from a shrapnel wound to the head received on the Gallipoli Peninsula and is commemorated in the Beach Cemetery, Gallipoli Peninsula, Canakkale Province, Turkey
