Stein, Alfred James
Born 1st February 1893 New South Wales to Reinis and Agnes Eliza Stein (nee Cain) a labourer he embarked Melbourne 22nd December 1914 on board “HMAT Ceramic” with the 15th Infantry Battalion. He died 3rd May 1915 from wounds received on the Gallipoli Peninsula and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey. His brother Pte Thomas Stein (No 7075) died from wounds 19th September 1918 in France and is buried in the La Chapelette British and Indian Cemetery, Peronne, France.
